Losing Money

At the moment my wages are costing me 72k a week and I'm only making 25k from home matches (from the starting 1k stadium). I've increased the stadium to include 100 VIP Boxes and 10 Exec Boxes but I don't imagine that will give me enough money to be breaking even. So how can I prevent the club going bankrupt in a few weeks time, do I have to sell loads of players?
I notice that currently I'm getting no sponsor income which doesn't seem right, can I get a club sponsor or is this something that can only be done at the start of the season (in which case I'm penalised because I've taken over an inactive team mid season and the previous owner didn't get a sponsor)

you should be able to get a sponsor;
go to your economy page, then click on sponsors on bottom left.
in here you should have an option to select a sponsor.

also a useful tip is when you're starting out is to find and challenge people with big stadiums to friendlies at their place.
look under the mentors sticky, you should find a few people there who are willing to give you a game. this should bring you in plenty of money to get your stadium up and running.

(sadly i'm tied into a friendly cup at the moment, otherwise would have been happy to host)

Ah, silly me. Despite looking on the Economy page I failed to notice the sponsor before. Now that I have a sponsor I should be fine.

Thanks

also remember after EVERY game you play, go back to the sponsor page, and you can choose new match day sponsors (there at the bottom), they can really add to your income in the early days. I try to get into a rhythm where whenever iv looked at a match, i check i have sponsors set up... with league matches and friendlies it can add up to 24k a week extra...

Caleban, i have some building work to do for the next couple of weeks, but after that i would be happy to play you as well (my stadium will be around 9000-10000 seats then, so should give you a very nice friendly income (some would call it the 'sweet spot' for stadiums and friendlies lol

Once my building is finished, I'll be willing to help out younger teams too! I'll be at 24,000 seats, so that's higher than the sweet spot, but should still bring in good money.
