Sorry if this has already been asked, could someone explain Promotion and Relegation. Is there a playoff or does the top side get promoted? Also is the league random, that they are promoted too, say for example from V.3 to IV.16?

After the last regular game of each season (gameday #18)

first team promotes if higher league level available, last 3 teams demote if lower league level available...

No playoffs etc...

It's not random the top team in divs x.1, x.2, x.3 move up to div y.1 ,
x.4, x.5, x.6 up to y.2 etc
Your Div V.16 would promote to IV.6

Too add to that, while promotion is not random, relegation is as far as I can tell. Bottom three in each league relegate, but I don't think there's any set league that they relegate to. So if you're in, for example, 2.3, you could end up in 3.1 if you relegate.

My cousin, before he went bot, was in III.7. Now, after relegating as a bot, the team is in IV.2. I would think that if relegation was handled like promotion they would have gone to IV.19, IV.20, or IV.21.

Relegation is random to prevent managers from fixing the matches in order to "select" in which league they would like to play.

Promotions aren't random because the managers has to deserve it and is fair that he/she knows where the road leads him/her if he/she is successful.
