Just picked up a 16-year-old CB (Colton de Costa) from my Youth Pull ... with 5-star talent.

Positioning 5 Tackling 5 Punting 4
Vision 4 Blocking 3 Speed 14
Intelligence 2 Passing 3 Strength 14
Footwork 2 Catching 1 Agility 4
Carrying 5 Kicking 3 Stamina 4
OTHER
Teamwork 12 Consistency 11

Bare in mind, he's really, really dumb and has average consistency. Otherwise (talent especially), he's pretty good. What would you guys do with him? What are my options with such an uneven player? And how would you rate him: Did I find a jewel, a decent player, nothing special OR a flat-out dud?

he's a great player in my mind.
his secondaries are very solid, good str, spd etc.
to me he's very trainable and capable of being excellent.
think you've found a gem there

i'd prob train him as a DE

I'd sell him. You'd get a premium with him being 16 and a 5* talent, even though it's the same BPOS as a 4.5*. Would probably expect him to for $900k or so.

I would keep him, but I agree that if you sell him now, he will get you the most money.

Ha. Aw, man. I may consider selling him if I'm able to bank as much as 900K for the guy. But then again, do I really want to lose a guy as young as 16yrs old, that someone else feels is worth upwards of 900 frickin' K...? There is the dilemma.

Take into consideration that I just bought a training center --- and I can't think of a better use for it than using it to develop a player with loads of potential.

I have a lot to think about with this guy.

Anyone else have thoughts?

As others said, I would sell him if I don't need him...If he would be in my team I would not sell him cause I have to replace some 2 star talenters...But with this intelligence it is quite hard to find the right position, cause for myself I like intelligence 10+

You will get probably more than 900k. Maybe even 1,5M. If you have trainign center, maxed coaches and fitness center- keep him. Other way- sell him That's pretty easy mathematics

edit: Ok, with your small stadium, pretty high salaries I would sell him either way And I will probably engage into bidding

sell him, grab the cash and dont look back...

personally he would only ever get to play D line or Special Teams for me with that intelligence.... and you never know if his strength and speed will cap next training increase...

sell him, use the cash to expand your stadium etc... but set the starting price high an put an add on the ads section about him...

Stop...you think DLine is "stupid"?

IMO: They need the same level of INT the OL needs...INT<10 is KR, FB, HB...?

was more a case of .... you can play him at D line at a push.... personally i would not... (my o-line is averaging about 16 intelligence at the moment, and my D line about 14 lol)
