I was bidding on a young player earlier today and with just a couple of mins remaining I was the highest bidder with $10,000. When I checked the auction again, I was outbid and somebody had paid more than $200,000 for him. He doesn't look THAT good!

Do you think the owner made a mistake?

Till Martini

I haven't scouted him so I don't know his talent. I was just surprised to see his price jump so sharply in a matter of seconds.

Yeah, Unless he has ten's across the board, I am not paying that much for him!

WOW, I could have gotten a better player than that for around $8000. That is just crazy

He's got good talent, he's young, and his catching and carrying are pretty good. It was probably someone who was desperate for a WR.

That said, I wouldn't have went above 50,000 for someone with 2 teamwork. And that's pushing it.

the physicals are the reason to do it. at 17 he is a pretty good prospect. the real market is going to be 16 year olds here pretty soon. good physicals and teamwork are going to be huge.

20 intelligence, 15 consistency, 7 catching, good speed / strength AND only 17 years old .... worth every cent particularly if balance sheet is strong

he still isn't worth $200,000, I've seen players with 5 star talent that have really good skills and weren't that much.

Me and pstimpel got in a real good bidding war for a 16 year old yesterday. If this guy that sold for 200k had 5 stars of talent, I would have bid at least 100k for him. So I could easily see how someone who was desperate for him(as I am not) would bid 200k.

You are right about that, I guess I didn't realize that owners with more money can afford players like this if they really want them.
