could make like, a season simulated in the game be 3,5 days on the real life
because the season is really too long as it is now

I whole heartedly disagree. There is an old adage in comedy that says always leave em wanting more. This is why football is so great. Basketball and baseball you have SO many games and they happen so quickly that they do not hold weight or significance. if we finished the current season structure in 2.5 months that's two games a week, plus one day for friendlies/cup matches which means at least 4 games per week. The one complaint I have about GLB is that the games come SO often that you really don't have time to get excited for any individual game. One league game per week makes it an event. you look forward all week to playing an opponent. you check out their team, decide if you want to scout a player or two. work out a defensive strategy, take time to talk some smack if you want to, build up and anticipate the actual game! a game every other day takes away the value of the game. There are plenty of options I can play if I want to get a season done in a week, but this is one that I can look forward to developing a long time.

To counter the new player arguement, look at retention for games like hattrick. GLB is having trouble keeping players interested because by season 3 you've played 60 games!!!! in three months time no less! what kind of long term retention are you going to have if by the years end you've played 240 matches(glb's pace)... Do you REALLY want to create that many lineups? not to mention take the time to find good players for your team, set training for each player, sell the trainees, and have to find a freindly? A player in the GLB model is done with his entire career in 10 months. Here players can last up to two to three years! I played Hattrick for three and a half years. I still know half of my players names even after not having played for 6 months. why because they became special to me. there was limited exposure so there was value. Keep your rapid fire browser games, If i want that I'll run a season through in Madden and play with real players. I like my limited exposure.

Great post, but doesnt mean that 18 weeks season is not too long. Is way too long

18 weeks is too long. I think a season should be 11 weeks so in a year we'd have 4 seasons. That is an additional 1 season per real life calender year, and a season per 3 months (more or less) which i think is a good halfway point. Its neither too long nor too short.

Im on GLB also, was an alpha tester and currently have 3 elite players, and i dont mind the schedule at all. Cyberdunk is a basketball sim and has many more games, but it lasts 2 1/2 months per season. Cybersoccer is just under 2 months per season. Actually i remember people complaining that THEY were too long (but Cyberdunk actually added like 10 days rather than make the season shorter due to new cups and all that).

I think making the season a BIT shorter would keep many people interested in this game, OR add more games per season but keep the season as long as it is right now. Lots of people like to see change. Not only will people sign on more often, but itll bring more people into the game and then the forums will be busier, brining in a domino effect.

I would certainly not add more games in 1 week.
Making the season shorter is a possibility, but that would imply to make the leagues smaller (10 teams to 8 teams, let's say)...

why less teams? if a season is lets say....11 weeks. And there are 10 teams per league, you play a team once and if this game has bye weeks, that would equal 11 weeks.....That sounds good to me. However, if we do 2 games per week, we can play each team twice in the same 11 weeks (which would bring more competitiveness IMO, some teams who lost would like to play a rematch)

But if we were to play each team twice in a season, then 2 bye weeks would be nice to consider....Making the season 12 weeks long (exactly 3 months long).

I think a lot of people would quit because of a lack of time.
Not everyone has as much time as you and me (let's say). They just want to login twice a week, one time for the league game and one time for their friendly...

I honestly don't mind it. I think it gives me that perfect amount of time to Scout and really take advantage or other teams.

The season is long enough. Maybe only to change the days or friendlies and cups.
