Well, it was bound to happen at a points.
The 5 time consecutive champions Spain have been eliminated in the quarter-finals and we will have a new World Champions this season.
Good luck to the remaining teams

The Danish retirement home will keep fighting!

Good luck to you and your team of grandpa's
I really hope in the future this "grandpa thing" will be removed because it's killing the game a lot.

Thanks. We are up against UK, so it might be battling for third they will be showing on a large screen at the retirement home.

Yeah - it sucks to have NT's that are like the Danish when the NT's should reflect the commitment that a country has to the team. There are (I believe) only two Danish teams and in fact only only 10 Danish NT players that are on active rosters. Only one or two active players are on the starting lineup and the oldest should have retired 25 seasons ago.

But a BOT flush has been on the talks of us players for a loooong time, but I doubt that it will happen. And before a BOT flush is done, we will see a team like the Danish NT.

Another NT coach could fire them all, but the team could quickly be brought together again.

imho: if you kill the old players, you kill the world cup
If you want to eliminate grandfathered players, then some national teams would not participate in the World Cup due to lack of players and everything would be reduced to a competition with only active players, so how many national teams? 10 ? 12 ? I would not know.

Therefore it seems like a dead end road

P.s. of course if there were more active managers everything would be different, but here it's up to the admins... at the moment it's pure utopia I'm afraid

Speaking from my point of view, i won't have any problem with that.
There are plenty of managers who could develop players and have in the NT, even if there are some NTs who don't have teams anymore, but as example, there were plenty of China teams at a point and no China NT.
As you pointed out, this rule will be up to the owner/admins to decide. And as usual, nothing is going to change and the grandpa's will carry on their tradition.
I would love it if this would change, even if some NTs will suffer because of it, but i believe this game was not meant for 55 year player in the NTs belonging to team that turned BOOT 10 years ago, but for active managers who can develop players and use them in the NTs.

I think the breaking point for "old" NT players is at 57-59 years old. After 43 seasons, the youngest youth pulls and trainable players would have been 16-20 years old in season 1.

Best option for cleaning this mess up would be to flush players that are set for retirement and then let the BOT teams be filled with youths. That way, when a BOT team is converted to a real team (and flushed) a good portion of the players heading to Free Agency when fired will appeal to other human teams.

But it is up to the admin / owner to do such a change and that might not happen before the next time Jupiter comes between the Sun and Earth.

This was my proposal as well a couple of months ago.
It's the best thing to do.

2nd quarter
Denmark
00:14
3rd-8-DEN99RushJens Kroner runs for 0 yards. Tackled by Davidjames Lowe.
2nd-10-DEN97RushJens Kroner runs for 2 yards. Tackled by Freddie McAdam.
1st-10-DEN97RushJens Kroner runs for 0 yards. Tackled by Benjamin MacIntyre.

Uhhh... I would have loved to have orders for 2 minute drill.... A FG would be obvious, but my guess is that the NT Coach will let the clock run out...
