Sometimes I ask me if there is any manager itself (or a manager who knows a person) in GI who has some skills in programming

If yes, maybe the whole community can raise some money to buy off GI from Melderon.

Then we would have the basis of the current GI, which is solid in my opinion. In the worst case, we still would have the GI what we have now.

At next, the programmer could realise our ideas for this game. Of course not all at once, because the programming shouldn't do a lot of work.
But the programmer could get a tip from us (just like now for the Supporter Account).

In the best case we could have a game which is not perfect or the newest hype but a much better game than the current GI.

Just my personal decent opinion

Honestly if there was a way to do this id do my best to help

I tried asking for an asking price some 10 years ago and did not get a reply. They were not interested in selling, but if they are know, I will make myself available for any bid.

I promise if you ask , they’ll listen to an offer. The way things have changed these past ten year , i can almost guarantee they’d take a solid offer

As it's no secret (from other forums of our games) that the owner is having quite serious health issues, I asked him - and he is prepared to consider selling GI.

But, if any of you (or more of you if it's the community effort) are really serious, please contact us over PM.
I must emphasise though - only contact us with serious offers please (offers under 10k for example won't even be considered).

Time for the grid-iron community to shine

Under the assumption that there is nobody who will cough up the full asking price I propose the following:
1 - we form a "management team" consisting of a handfull of respected members who are willing to both invest and contribute to the management part of this buy-out attempt. Assuming the community thinks I qualify I volunteer of course.
2 - we set up a GoFundMe or something like that to see if we together can raise the money

PM me if you like this approach and want to participate!

Edit: thanks for the PMs received so far, keep them coming!

How is it possible that a German team, whose manager has not logged in since 21.05.2026, with a record of 0 wins and 15 losses, and with the highest salaries in the GI world, is still active?

As far as I understand, if a manager is inactive for 3 weeks or if a team remains financially negative for more than 1 week, the team should automatically become a bot.

It would be helpful if you specified the team, but based on your description, I think you are talking about:
high salary

I can see that this team has a Supporter account, so the highest level available. In that case, your team remains active for four or six months after the last login, I don't recall exactly...

Yes, that team. And I am sure with this salaries, he should be in negative finance by now. Or this is also not the rule for Supporter account, or?

Seems like the 25th May was a bad day for 5 of the top 13 teams listed in the highest salaries table.

Fair play buying 5 supporter accounts for an ever evolving never known 2 weeks the same set up like this one
