The World Cup finals get underway tomorrow..... best of luck to all managers involved

Group A
Finland, Germany, Sweden, United Kingdom

Group B
Argentina, Norway, Poland, Serbia

Group C
Australia, Italy, Slovakia, USA

Group D
Austria, Denmark, France, Russia

I'm facing the daunting task of completing a three-peat for the UK team in my first stab at national team management. Having come through a tough qualifying group I'm not too disappointed with our draw here, although there are no easy games at this stage of course, and Germany & Finland are both recent champions. Groups C & D probably look the toughest on paper. Lots of very experienced managers on show..... it's going to be a tough contest for all!

WC30 is being hosted in Argentina FYI.

The UK escaped with a win over Sweden by the narrowest of margins, needing a last-minute TD winner to swing it after we surrendered a 21-7 lead. Finland up next.

Results elsewhere generally went as expected with important wins for Italy and Denmark, but the standout result was surely Slovakia's overtime victory over the USA.

The UK team is a monster team, but I can not see it being 59-28 worse than the Danish side, but let's take this as a warning call for the Euro semi-final on Wednesday...

Not, it is a neighbor rivalry in the final between Norway and Denmark to get to the final.

Italy and Germany will also be a cracking game!

I know.... England is a part of UK, but it the closest we get in this game.

Hope your boys spank ingurland and send those over rated bunch of spunk buckets out the tourney with there tails stuck right up their dirty stink pipes.

Nothing against England though haha, you just wont be able to turn a tv on in Scotland for the next 57 years or so without some over rated 90's football players going on about how footballs coming home again.

Back on topic though and the best of luck to the 4 teams left in the tournament, i think we might get a Germany v Denmark final but it could just as easily be Norway v Italy.

Yeah congrats on the win, we just had no answer to your running game. Disappointed to have under-achieved (in UK terms), but all part of the learning curve for me. Best of luck to the four remaining teams in tomorrow's semis!

I'm not going to talk about football as there are Danes and Scots on this thread (!!) but suffice to say I'd trade going out of the Grid-Iron World Cup for England beating Denmark on Wednesday!
