So i got player who won't be 100% for about another week. The game tells me that I could give the player the injection and he'll be able to play. How would I administer the injection should I choose to play him on Saturday?(I won't, but I'm just wondering how that would work)

it's just a metaphor. It means your player's healt is not 100%, but he can play, so he can't play like when he is totaly healthy.

GI is having fun with your injured player, so juice him up a bit and get him back in your line up. You don't literally have to inject them, but that is kind of what they do in the real game or at least back in the old days. Here is the penalty you get for playing them and generally I will play them if they are in the 1 to 3 day range:
If the player still has from 4 to 6 days left he will play with 60% to 70% of his ability
If the player still has from 2 to 3 days left he will play with 71% to 80% of his ability
If the player still has 1 day left he will play with 81% to 95% of his ability
