He and Liberalmente are the two examples that I want to follow.
They have had a stable presence in the Top Division for many seasons. That's my goal too

Don't be a follower.
Make your own path.

Sounds like the new Nike NFL slogan.

Should be!! As long as they don't kneel for the national anthem.

I'm at 860k, but I fired most of my team last season. I was usually at 1.2 to 1.5 mil.

OMG!
First you start a very interesting thread
then you ruin it by bringing up politics

I was tempted by saying 'It matters whether they kneel for the anthem, or just kneel during the anthem', but then i censored myself. Now no way i hold onto that comment, so here we go.

It's free speech and an important issue. Those kneeling feel like the social contract is failing them, that the policing system bound to protect them isn't. I recommend this commentary from Malcolm Jenkins that helped persuade Drew Brees to take another look: https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/sports/eagles/malcolm-jenkins-drew-brees-national-anthem-comments/2419169/

I read it right after it came out. Listen i do not want to pose as smart, nor do i know the solution. I am at least well informed, i think. Or maybe not, as i am not native american. But i am making some effort to be well informed.

It is actually not about me, but about other american fighting tooth and nail whether it is ok to kneel for the flag. Many people i hear say they oppose racism but they dont want to see the flag disrespected. And they also express their freedom of speech to voice that. Then argumenting starts, where everyone seems to be offended. So it is your nations issue. What fails on my common sense is that both sides are talking about freedom of speech.

Then a fun fact: Magic the gathering banned some cards for racism. Most of them were unquestionably oppressive, like crusade, but had historical reference. A card game that put human sacrifice, and planar genocide at center stage of their recent stories. I just cant make up that. I get that racism is bad, but why not banning anything that is worse than that?

From this distance from Europe it all looks like everything got out of proportion, and common sense is lost.

I wonder what will happen with the relationship between the NFL and the military now that the NFL has switched sides.
I always found the militaristic atmosphere that surrounds NFL games highly unusual and frankly a bit disturbing. Maybe it's because an average european like myself associates excessive flag waving and militarism with the fascism and dictatorship that we have in our european history and not with freedom and democracy.
But I for one wouldn't mind if the army would leave the stadiums.
I much rather look at cheerleaders than at soldiers.
Which, I guess, is sexist...
Damn, I just opened a whole new can of worms...

For what it's worth, I'm not questioning anyone's right to express their opinion on whether players should kneel for the anthem. I am simply expressing my opinion that it is an appropriate display of peaceful protest about an issue that desperately needs to be addressed. In doing so, I am opening myself up to any criticism or disagreement from any other player reading this message board, who disagrees with me. In my view, the discussion allows for the possibility that another player or I might change our minds. That's a good thing.

Unwillingness to have a conversation about something is what leads to polarization and viewing someone with a different opinion as the enemy.
