As is normal in this game, its been a poor season for rookies, taken none so far this season, and only 2 last season are left.

I only take 4 star rookies and above, and then get rid if they fail the physicals levels I need.

But looking at the transfer market, and the number of players left playing the game, how long can we continue with the game, before we have to take lower talent players?

The team is ageing along merrily, and I need a squad of at least 18 players, some playing both ways.

if no-one else is selling good players, i'm heading for the abyss, and it seems the only thing keeping me going atm, are teams selling out due to bankruptcy or leaving the game?

I do seem to be spending less and less time on the game too, the only reason I play is due to a friendship online, and habit, plus the small amount of time it takes to play

just me?

Just my opinion, but it sounds to me that you have set too high a standard for your youths.
For example, I take any player with talent 3.5* and above. They do have to make a certain level with their physicals but if they are only 1 point off that mark, I'll still consider them depending on what else I have.
3.5* talent players can play a role in anyones team. I have 5 3.5* talent players in my starting team and 4 of those are NT players.

As I agree with the opinion of setting to high standards for picking the rookies... I think somehow the quality of drafted youngsters did slide down.

Maybe it's just random situation, but since two seasons I think, I got much more 1,5* or 2* players. Even 3,5* (which I also try to keep for developing) became rare, especially in this season. In this year, we have the middle of season, and only two players were talented 3* or above. Last year was very unfruitful as well, but this season is kind of that I cannot remind any other so tough in academy.

PS: I have got fully builded-up academy.

Said the same about 3 years back. As the number of human managers decline. So does the player pool. Transfer market has been dead for a long time.

Right at the top of the ads i can see a 3.5 talent for 5000. No bid. This is not an isolated incident. I think talent can be picked up for a few virtual dollars. I do not buy the idea that the pool is so small that this option vanished. Personally i do not even look high at 3.5 and 5 talent guys, but aim higher. I have 50 guys on the roster. Guess, there are options out there.

3.5* talent with low con might be good enough for sixth place in a div II team. But some of us wanna win D1 and AFLC games.

Pretty difficult to make a 3.5* talent player with low teamwork and low starter skills get to 19 main skills quickly. Not waiting til the player is 27 to become a starter.

Fully agree. But i also said i am picking stacking up my roster with 4.5 talent, and had no trouble finding them. Lets now discount the market setting, expensive acquisitions. There were some available for well below a million.
I guess when the salaries are maxed out for performance, then there is no room for other investment, but maybe those high ranked teams should operate on a slightly bigger margin to accumulate a funding for later use, and being able to buy the new talent to refill the roster.
