Since many teams are dumping older players in the late rounds of the normal season and the World Cup is played in the off-season, there is a big risk that National Teams loose players if no one picks up the player as a free agent. Whether it is a new team kicking out old players from a BOT team or a ruthless manager dumping players to save money... uh... Capitalism!

My suggestion is that NT coaches can call-up any player as long as he/she can, but still with the 50 call-ups. That way, a National Team coach can replace any [old] player getting sacked and not picked up by another team and still be competitive in the World Cup.

Well, this is one side of the coin. And it is all fair. On the other hand there is the other side which allows those overaged players to stick around for later use. I would personally prefer if there would be no national teams as for me GI is about clubs, and national teams just stir the pot. I appreciate i might be in the minority with my opinion, and that is fine.

I totally agree with this. I enjoy the world cups but the national teams add nothing to the game in the way they allow renting to take place on an industrial scale

Agreed, can really hamper plans and hit a team hard!

The call ups were open until yesterday. That modification happened after some issues last season and discussions were held a little time ago. And I agree with those call-ups open during the qualify, closing the day before the WC. I think that the NT manager should manage those problems with cut players by himself. For example, I have signed some brazilian NT players just in order to keep them in the team for the final phase (and have spent no money for that by the way).
