Wow!!!

Very special ending to this season! Sad for Rams, but some one has to loose. Very exciting to follow the games and AbCats commentary.

Good luck to all next season!

Congrats ledilot and hard luck garyh. Losing out by 1 point is tough. Sorry I was the reason for that. I would have liked to have put my friendly team out because I had nothing to play for but because of the situation and in the name of fairness I played my first team, although I did make a few changes because I was selling some players. It's been a good exciting season and I hope next season will be the same. Hopefully I can carry my good form from the second half of this season into next season. Best of luck to ledilot and AbCat in the AFLC next season

Congrats to the Swans on winning the Division and to Ray on staying up, it sure was exciting in the end though!

My D has been shocking all season, so I deserve to relegated. I just couldn't stop the Run!! Major rebuild for me, so sadly I won't be seeing you up here for a while.

It's been a fun season and good luck to all for next year!

Yes, you'd have to say that's terrible luck for Joburg. In the second quarter they had a 2nd and 3 on the 95 yard line, and lost possession from there. They also missed a 41 yard field goal just after half time. Had any of those been successful they would be in the top flight again next season. They do though have a very good (and cheap) young team, which will probably be a framework for something special in the seasons to come.

Edit: Plus you might get a chance to complete a full set of Div 2 titles.

I need to learn how to defend against the Run first and some more money in the bank would be nice too

Twice I've made it to the TD and twice relegated....need to come in strong, if I ever make it a third time.

I have a feeling we'll be seeing Gary in the TD again in the not too distant future with a team that will stay up.

Thanks for all good wishes

It has been a special season for me.
Half a year ago I more or less gave up on the team.

When I started in the game 5 years, 1 month and a few days ago I slept with "Spilling the Beans" under my pillow, and I made a 'plan' - two seasons in each division, second one on top of it

I spend several years finding and training a bunch of players - high talent and physicals - high int and/or con, if needed.
I expected these players to be an inportant factor in our TD, when ready for it.
All the time my team and planning was based on a high trained attack - supported by O-line and defence a bit lower trained.

The 'two season each division'-part didn't quite work out - but almost…...
Season 15-16 in div V, season 17-18 in div IV, season 19-20-21 in div III, season 22-23 in div II, season 24 in TD...

Then came the update, and all 'planning' was blown to pieces.

It took some time to realise how much the game had changed.
It took several seasons to accept it.

Tabin noticed some time ago, my players didn't have the same standard as Abcat's team.
That is correct - and deliberately.

As I said above, half a year ago I was very close giving it all up. Instead I decided to give it one more try.
It seemed to me, my high skilled offensive players would/could bring me nowhere - for reasons that were out of my control.
Maybe it was time to think different.

I sold/sacket my 19-20 skilled Att's and OT's. I simply wanted to see, if I - with a different approach to the game - could manage without them.
For me the question was, could I stay up - or not.

First testing went rather well - surprisingly well

Final stats

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1lvb5OgeKVmubp7jVx1IJZOzKsUzoBW-Zy8dcKRVFWMw/edit?usp=sharing

It shows that the Fiona Swans won largely due to being the team to have fared the best against the new improved run game. Less than 8 yards per rush against them. Need to give a bit more commentary on these next season if I get the chance.
