Today my team recovered an opposition fumble for the first time since I have been a manager (15th season). Is this really that rare I thing?

They're about as common as bumblebee honey.

I've seen it once before, but have never been involved in one. It looks so strange on the match commentary.

Yep, I was watching and thought here comes a punt, so turned to a different tab and when I looked back, my team had just scored. Very odd...

I recovered one in the 4th Quarter of my game today, and scored from it a few plays later.

I've seen it a half dozen times in my games since season 4. Always enjoy that play out of nowhere. Kind of like the you score, they score in the same update and always makes you do a double take because the score jumps for both teams

First time it happened to me. Mid 3rd Quarter in this game with the German NT.

bah, I think they are testing changes to the software during the match this season ... and doing this, probably the software has become even more unstable ( for example probably bmi does not work already from some matches)...

not sure what you mean. but fumbled punts and recoveries by the kicking team has happened many times. so it isn't something new or being tested.
