Two Different End Game Scores

Match

Playing around with match orders I came across this. On the box score there are two different final scores. In theplay-by-play log, some drives end with an extra point and no touchdown, completely omitting the scoring touchdown play. The live score only reads the extra point, making it seem the team only scored one point. Comparing to the end game results and box score, the touchdown is counted as well as the yardage. So this should be just a visual bug. However, the opponents QB statewise only has 4 completions in the game, while the opponents receiving core had 8 receptions. So not really sure if entirely visual.

This was playing with a completely convoluted and unreasonable defense, with no pass coverage whatsoever on one side of the field, allowing for ‘free’ touchdowns. I do not know if the 21-25 or the 21-49 score is used to determine who won, as both score result in the same losing team. My assumption is that the correct 21-49 score would be used, as in the personal past matches feed that is the score depicted.

This was just a ‘what if’ test’, and I don’t think anyone would ever use this lineup otherwise. Also I don’t think the bug has much impact on the game, but I’ll post it just in case.

I've never seen an invisible touchdown before.

You'd hope that this is caused by the unusual defensive setup, but it's funny how a play that presumably encounters no defenders just doesn't get listed on the match commentary, and is then missed off by the in-game scoreboard too (but not the one that counts at the end).

In my opinion, it appears that the system didn't have a defender to cover that zone based upon nothing available from their preset possibilities and therefore the system couldn't generate a text review for those plays. Basically, his crazy line-up trumped the system and it was unable to give a text representation of the touchdown that occurred due to no available defenders in the zone that was attacked. Also it would appear that some of the links to data collection are broken by the lack of text information and so you have 2 different final scores, yet the stats are inclusive of all activity in the game. Further evidence that the game engine is very simple, the randomness is very high and it's all great fun to wonder about
