Welcome to Brixton Massive from TD, Cowboys, Bulls and Warriors.

Strong teams and it will be interesting to see if anyone can repeat Pro's record from last season!

Good luck to all except the 18 games, you will be facing my rubbish team!Last edited on 2018-08-08 at 20:27

Hello all! Some good teams here...

I'm rebuilding so it's 0-18 for me. Best of luck everyone for the season

Week 1:

Raiders and Knights look like they are not stepping down from last year. Impressive 700+ yards from Knights and Raiders are pounding through on a stout run offence. Impressive what an 18k HVB can do behind a great OL and FB.

I am happy for my win over a rebuilding Brixton team.

Bulls had the best part of the paella in the Spanish clash and newcomers Cowboys had a decent loss against Chums.

So no big losses - perhaps East Phoenix will disagree. The best two teams marched through the week and the contenders (Chums and Gnomes) are keeping pace. Five home wins... How will that affect the next week?

My predictions:

Knights over Warriors
East over Gnomes
Hyenas over Bulls
Brixton over Chums
Raiders over Cowboys

I fear that two former team players will rip my defense apart tomorrow. Hope I prove them wrong and that my shappy defense shapes up and does something about them!

3 wins, but with the greatest respect, not the strongest teams,

it looks like the Raiders are the ones to beat, i struggled at home this week
they beat the Cowboys easily away

keeping the team intact a while longer, its an unpredictable game after all

Beginning to look like the table from last season without the Por's bullying us all.

Big game for Raiders and me. Chums and East Pheonix too... Battle to keep it close to either Knights (easier opponent against rebuilding Massive) and if Raiders win, there will be one or two teams at 3-1 and hunting the two 4-0 teams.

Good luck to all! (Well... not all, I mean. )

Yeah I'd most def be keeping your team intact.

Being privy to some inside info on The Raiders I can officially rule my team out of the running for promotion.
Simply put, it would be detrimental to my clubs future to be promoted when I have so many youths that are screaming out for game time. I can't train them quick enough on friendlies alone. I also need to allocate funds for a major stadium upgrade. Promotion with only youths would lead to an 0-18 season in the Top Div and there's no financial benefit in that whatsoever.
The plan this seasons always been to attempt to achieve safety from relegation as early as poss giving me an opportunity to switch to my youths and remain in this Div for 1 more season at least, build up the cash and then upgrade my stadium for relegating to Div III level. By this time my youths should be competitive enough to guarantee good crowds for home games in Div III.

It's all about those finances !!!

There's big games every week for those seeking a run at promotion, whether it's winning tight games or running up more points than your rivals in games that you're expected to win.

As you'll see from my post above with regards to my plans for my club, and with the benefit of seeing how the league has played out so far, it turns out that I have already played 3 of my big games.
Also, having these 3 fixtures reversed at the start of the second half of the season will hopefully allow me to preserve the integrity of the division. I don't want to affect the promotion race by giving one player a walkover when his rival for promotion had to play me at full strength. Something I'll need to be wary about when I sell my first team/switch to the youths

On a side note ..... my Def Coordinator tells me the Gnomes Head Coach is very predictable with his tactical changes and that they are running the ball 90/90/90 this weekend

Finances are the biggest problem in the game, and the big benefit
being in the AFLC, so much more money

i've been running lean on wages for a few seasons, even now, not
the biggest wage bill in the division, and a decent cup run, means
i will break even at least

such a pain to get right

still, Raiders money saving will open the league up a little, but still
looks more than a 1 horse race

Looks like running @home is a real deal. Not sure if my passing game would have put up similar numbers, but that win opened up the division a bit.

Now, I just need to win out to be 100% sure!

Good game Raiders!
