In the aflc, 53 of the 73 games were won by the home team, in the world cup 21 of the last 32 games were won by the home team, in top division last season 64 teams won more games at home, 6 teams won more away games and 9 were even, they made it so the best teams don't win, now when a team bots a line up it makes it even more crucial with the pd.

I have grumbled about it and agree that I’d like its impact reduced.

But then I would - having just lost away from home. In overtime.

NFL so far this season 79-68. Grid-iron seems to be a bit off indeed.

It sucks at the World Cup, for sure. It's totally fine with me that the host has an advantage. That's only realistic. But besides that, Home or Away will simply be drawn. Apart from the Quarters, where the group winners play at home, every home or away game is pure chance. And I did have the feeling that it impacts the outcomes. It shouldn't. It's neutral field for all teams except when the host plays.

I do agree that it is a little bit too much in League and Cup games. But especially in the league games, at least it is even for the teams. And good teams do beat bad teams on the road.

Here are the home team records in NA II.1 for Season 24 (before home field adjustment) and Season 25 (after home field adjustment).

S.24 - 44-46 - 48.9%
S.25 - 52-38 - 57.8%%

Big difference for sure but one certainly looks more like real-world football than the other.

IMO it should be challenging for a road team to win.
