WINNING MANAGERS
WC01: Mercutioh
WC04: Reaus
WC16: PHI 21
WC20: Shankster

RECAPS
World Cup 1 - Mercutioh
Merc was the virtual unanimous choice to be the first USA World Cup manager. Nearly everyone in the US helped to scout American players all over the globe. It was a real community event! The actual games were close, especially those against Mexico in the qualifying round, but Merc's boys moved on after going undefeated. Round 1 of the World Cup turned out to be very competitive. The US beat Russia 49-21 in the only game that wasn't close. They then beat Denmark by a TD, 49-42 and they beat Italy by the exact same 49-42 score.

As they moved into the Quarters and Semis, the US team began to show their strength, beating Serbia 35-7 and Germany 56-28.

The finals pitted the USA against Denmark and the US came out on top, not losing a single game during the entire tournament!

49 USA
35 Denmark

World Cup 4 - Reaus
After two seasons without a title, Reaus took over the US squad with the hope of bringing another title to the States.

The US rolled through qualifying undefeated, easily handling outmatched Switzerland, Hungary and Belgium.

World Cup round one found the US squad matched up against the UK, Portugal, and Slovenia. The US dominated, winning all 3 games easily while the other teams all posted 1-2 records.

The UK managed to move on the the quarter finals based on their PD. The US beat Switzerland 63-21 in the quarters, beat a tough Germany team 42-31 in the semi finals, and finished the tournament undefeated, beating Poland in the finals.

49 USA
35 Poland

World Cup 16 - PHI 21
After many seasons of struggles, Phi 21 took over the reigns of the USA team with a promise to return them to glory.

Qualifying was brutal, with 3 of the 4 teams posting 4-2 records. USA and France moved on because of their PD. In round one of the World Cup, it was another brutal test, France and the US were once again in the same group. 3 of the 4 teams in Group C posted 2-1 records and again France and the USA moved on due to PD.

France and the US both dominated their games in the quarters and semi's, which led to an unprecedented 4th game between the two squads, this time in the finals!

After 3 tough games leading up to these finals, everyone expected another tough battle, but the USA dominated the finals to win their 3rd title.

56 USA
27 France

World Cup 20 - Shankster
It had been 4 seasons without a title for the USA, and Shankster came in with renewed energy looking to end that streak.

The World Cup teams are a lot closer in strength these days, making it tougher than ever to win a title, but the WC20 squad was up to the challenge.

After losing the first game of qualifying to Mexico, it looked like it might be another early exit for the Red White and Blue, but they rallied and won the next 5 to take their group and move on to Round one of the World Cup. The US team beat Brazil 56-38, beat Russia 56-28 and beat Croatia 34-28 in OT to take Group B with a 3-0 record.

Once in the quarters, the US really started to roll, beating Hungary 49-35 to move on to the semis where Romania awaited. Romania is probably looking for the license number of the truck that hit them, as the US crushed them 56-21.

Slovakia was waiting in the finals. The Gonzaga of the GI World Cup put up a good fight, but in the end, just didn't have enough to keep up with the US team. And Shankster brought a 4th Title back to the States!

49 USA
35 Slovakia
