I must learn to keep my mouth shut about Corey's inclination to throw interceptions as he threw 3 in the game against Denmark and the last one proved decisive.

UK against Denmark was a heartbreaker. We were driving late in the 4th and we were one first down or even one incomplete pass away from victory. The only way Denmark were going to win was to get an interception and drive with no incompletions which is what happened and they scored with 3 seconds to spare.

The loss still leaves us top of the group on points difference but all is irrelevant as Mexico collapsed against Serbia. This means that the winners of the two matches tomorrow in group A will go through.

We travel to Mexico and our away form is not as good as our home form but our fate lies in our own hands.

An even bigger heartbreak loss against Mexico to knock us out of the WC. Mexico scored with zero time left on the clock and once again a valiant effort by the UK players comes to an end.

It has to be said our home form is much better than our away form. In the campaign as a whole we won all 5 or our home matches and lost 4 out of 6 away. In group A itself there were only home wins and as UK had 2 away matches we were sunk.

I have tried my best and the only thing I can say is that the new caps will be that much better next time round and whoever takes over I wish them luck and offer any assistance that I can.

The seasons of hurt move forward to the next chapter

That's such bad luck, I'm sorry. It was a good effort though.

I'm hoping that next season I can take the helm and have a shot at it, as I thought I did an okay job with a very old and eclectic team with New Zealand.

Surprisingly Germany are out too, I thought they were favourites.

That was quick!

I've applied (again). Hopefully this time you guys can trust me to take the helm.
