High school football video game?

Does anyone know of a high school football video game (or computer game)? I've played the EA Sports Madden and NCAA games, and they are fun for what they are. But, a football game that highlights the differences between high school and the other levels of competition would be interesting. This is especially so in the lower divisions of high school ball. Like NCAA, you would only have a player for up to four years, unless his family moves or he starts playing later then his freshman year. Even then, do you really start a freshman who is way smaller than a senior? You would also have players who hit growth spurts or do not grow as expected. Also, some players would learn other skills based on the other sports they play. Other players may get in trouble or fail to get grades.
Then there are the mismatches and not having enough of the right players. What does a coach do when his offensive line has a couple of big seniors, a couple of average sized juniors or sophmores, and then one or two positions that must be filled by ... someone? How about the senior QB or HB who's bigger than the whole offensive line?
But the game play is different, too. Most teams don't have a QB that can throw anything better than a short pass or maybe a screen pass. A kicker who can actually kick an extra point is equally rare, never mind one who can kick field goals (unless he played soccer last year). You see a lot more running, tosses, trick plays, flea flickers and the option. Oh, and the glut of fumbles, blocked kicks and plays that go humorously wrong. The fumble return can sometimes be a high school team's greatest offensive weapon.
Anyhow, anyone know of such a game?

it would be physically impossible to even attempt to have somewhat up to date rosters

Given the time (and thus money) it would consume to make such a game accurate, i think no professional game design studio will ever develop such a game....

It's in such a niche market, would probably only sell in the US, they would never get a big enough profit to make the effort worth while.

But you can always dream big

If it happened, it would probably be an indie game with generated names. I'd imagine it would look something like a modern version of tecmo bowl with Lee Suggs providing vital info for the engine.

It would take a pretty huge sum of money to pull Lee Suggs away from his GI commitments

Long live Lee Suggs.

Yeah, I was thinking something like this. It could be done. With the internet being what it is, I'm sure somebody probably will make a generic high school game. It's just a matter of time. Besides, look at this game. I wouldn't say it's anywhere near accurate.

Alternatively, you could just create a number of players with lower skills and play in an existing engine (Madden, etc)...

The high school game isn't fundamentally different IMO, but the plays are dialed back significantly owing to the skills and maturity of the kids who are playing. You'll naturally (for example) have a higher level of success with running plays at the high school level than passing players - generally speaking, anyway.

The rules vary quite a bit between regions as well, so you'd need to pick a rule set and go with that.
