I just want to say a few words in tribute to one of the best Wide Receivers the UKNT has known, affectionately known as 'John-Thomas', who I'm guessing may well play his last game for the team next week, as his stats seem to be dropping like a stone.

This guy started appearing in the starting roster in World Cup 5 playing for Monkey, and by the time I took over in WC7 he was pretty much a regular, as an understudy to Finlay Sharpe.

He became something of a hero to the UK that season after bailing us out of trouble against Spain in the final group game, scoring the winning TD in a 38-35 win - he also featured in the 70-56 win over USA in the final.

He caught some crucial passes in the close games in the following World Cups, and has featured prominently in the UKNT for 10 seasons now, collecting four winner's rings.

His stats are 71 games, 121 Touchdowns, and 9915 receiving yards - hopefully he can break the 10K barrier against Croatia next week.

This compares favourably with the other WR legend, Finlay Sharpe (Played 58, TDs 116, Yards 8976). However, he is still way behind the machine that is Stewart Leonard.

He doesn't play for Weasels. You only have Kavanagh and McKenzie to worry about.

I feel like making them play every position for the UK this week. That might tire them out

Monkey made Brady into an almost perfect WR. Then it was up to me to finish the job, when I bought him at the ripe age of 28 while spending a king's ransom in the process ($ 3.3M).

But he turned out to be quite the investment. After making the leap from "almost perfect" to "perfect", the guy carried my team on his shoulders and then some. In his final season as a Midget, when he was 30 y.o., I darkwinged the hell out of him and I was rewarded with TD and Cup titles. He played like an unstoppable machine.

So he is a legend in my book and I already proceeded to retire his jersey number. Hall of Fame material for sure.

Oh yes.... Retiring once a NT coach presses the button!

Super awesome TE. I dare say the best. Just on a bad team...

Alas, for Leonard, his stats will also start to decrease next season, but I think he'll last until he turns 32. We should enjoy players like this while we can.

Yes for me 32 is the cut off point.
