I leaned heavily on Leonard today hoping he would allows us to progress. He ended up with 20 receptions from 41 targets which is poor from him (he's usually around 60%). We couldn't score just before the end of the 1st half (finished on the 95 yard line) lost by 11 in the end but a TD then might have helped. The two picks were very costly including McMillians 1st throw of the game! The defensive front actually did really well 3 sacks and 6 pressures but we still didn't seem to be able to hold Slovakia to many punts. Secondary made no real stops today I correctly guessed he would darkwing to Srank on the right and had our best CB Borland and best SF O'Sullivan on the left but sadly they couldn't stop him.

Nothing unusual in the start/end ratings. We just seem to have played poorly again, as a few games recently have been like this.

Obviously as coach I will take full responsibility and I apologise to the UK NT fans and fellow UK managers, as we had a great opportunity to bring the trophy home this season and I couldnt get the team to do it. I'd love to continue as coach but I'll happily step aside and not apply next cycle to allow another manager the chance of leading the UK to glory.

No I think you should stay on Phiba until you get it right!

No need for a new manager after all the work you have put in.

Thanks for the support guys

I was bitterly disappointed that we got knocked out in the quarter finals. I would love to carry on and I do know the team, as well as the areas we need to improve. I guess i'll see what happens when the new cycle begins and I may throw my hat in ring to continue with the UK, at least that way the decision would be up to my fellow UK managers.

Whether it is Phiba or some dark horse who takes the role next season, I would like to provide better support than I have this time around. Updated scouting threads and player recommendations will be forthcoming after the season turnover.

I will offer one opinion going forwards - I also think we lean too heavily on Stewart Leonard. He is a great player at the peak of his powers, but we also have five of the best wide receivers in the world. If we spread the ball around more, I think we give ourselves a better chance. It is just an opinion mind.

This is great advice to all teams, my history shows that 4 great receivers will usually trump darkwing methodology
