No way in the world he doesn't get a roster spot, even if it's just as a returner and a backup RB. He has looked decent out of the backfield as well though, so for me even after 2 games he's done enough.

Agreed! Greg Inglis would be even better, fingers crossed he makes the jump!! Once Jarryd earns enough to rival any NRL star players entire career earnings we could be in for a mass talent exodus from the nrl! That would be fun to watch! Here's hoping!

And I heard he was on a $100k - wonder how much he gets out of this?

and now his own song -

I think there's a minimum wage in the NFL which is higher than $100k, although i'm not sure if that's only applicable for final roster and practice squad players.

I think final roster minimum is around $400k but not sure about practice squad. I remember thinking a few years back that this could be awesome for some players. If you were on a team as a kickoff specialist then you'd be raking in a great wage just for being able to kick the ball out the back of the endzone

Practice squad minimum is a paltry $6,300 per week! Hardly worth getting out of bed if you ask me! That minimum wage gets you $107k per year, so maybe that's what he's on at the moment as that kind of matches the source info.

If he gets a spot on the 53 man roster he'll be looking at a minimum of $435k for the year as someone with 0 years experience.

Agreed, he's shown some good flashes as a KR so I can see the 49ers gambling a spot on him. He needs to adjust his running style if he's going to look at transitioning into a between the tackles runner as well as just a guy who can break the occasional long run outside the tackles, but he's got the athleticism to do it, without doubt.

I reckon Reggie Bush is probably getting a little anxious. He's not exactly an every down back himself - I can't see him doing a lot of running between the tackles.

tbh, I wouldn't be surprised to see Hayne become the featured back on that team at some point - depends on how Bush works out - win/win for the 49ers.

I giggled a little when he pancaked the safety on the sideline.

Without a doubt he is in. I'm finally convinced.

He is going to be a joy to watch on returns.

The shoulder charge was a nice touch too. Would be facing the judiciary back in the NRL

I think he has the spot. Although there were 6 players looking to be placed in the rb position, he is number one in my opinion. He has been doing good. Yeah sure he still has alot to learn, considering he has never played before, but he has picked it up quicky.

AND is running with the ball!
