Clarification was needed regarding forum rules. The mods have all put their heads together and this is what we have come up with. These rules will be in place for everybody.

Politics – This can be a very sensitive subject, especially with elections taking place in countries all over the world. As important as these elections can be I think it is safe to say there are countries around the world which provoke some very hostile debate very easily. We believe it is best that there is a blanket ban on any political debate because it can deteriorate rapidly.

That being said, we live in a world where global catastrophes are all too common. We will permit discussions regarding such events, but should the subject turn political then appropriate action will be taken.

If managers do not adhere to the rules regarding politics they will be subject to the 3 strike rule, 1st strike is a pm from one of the moderators, 2nd strike will be a public warning in the thread, 3rd strike will be a 3 day ban from the forums and the subsequent thread will be closed down.

Racism – This has no place in Grid-Iron, and we are pleased to say that there are no cases of this in the forums. Whilst other offences on this list can be classed as minor, any acts of racism in the forums or PM we will move to ban the user from the forums immediately for 14 days. If the user persists on return we will ask the admins for more extreme measures which may include closing the manager’s account

Religion – Everybody is entitled to their own beliefs, but we will not tolerate anybody trying to push their beliefs on anybody else. No ranting about why one God/Religion is better than another. Also, we belief there is no harm in celebrating holidays regardless of religion as long as the topic stays on topic and does not deteriorate into a religious/political slanging match. So whether it’s Xmas, Shrove Tuesday, St David’s Day, Pesach, Visakha Puja, Ramadan or Diwali, let’s be sensible and celebrate appropriately.

Any issues with other managers to be discussed with moderators / admin, under no circumstances will we tolerate any abuse towards other managers. We understand that there will be banter between managers, and that is fine, what we ask is that managers use common sense before throwing a comment out that others may find abusive (even if the manager on the end of it does not). There will be no airing of dirty laundry in the forum. Should a manager be on the receiving end of an abusive PM then do not start a slanging match with the other manager, let us or the admin know and we will take appropriate action.

The moderators will be keeping track of any warnings in play, this will not be made public. Once the 1st warning has been received then a 60 day clock starts, if no further discretions happen within the 60 days then the slate is wiped clean. If a 2nd warning occurs during the 60 days, the clock is reset, any further discretions within the next 60 days will receive a ban appropriate to the offence. A manager can ask when the 60 days is up, he will also receive a notification of when this is the case.

If a manager gets 3 1st warnings within a 6 month period this will automatically move to a 2nd warning. A 2nd warning will downgrade to a 1st after 60 days, and to nothing a further 60 days later.

We should stress that the number of days banned detailed above is not set in stone, it should be viewed as a minimum punishment. If the breach is more severe than the 3 of us will determine the length of a ban and this will be communicated to the manager directly.

I personally don't see much wrong with what you are proposing/proclaiming, just hope that there will be space permitted to take the piss out of those who require it.

The forums here are pretty stale at the best of times without removing banter.
