Without a whole lot to do on a Tuesday afternoon, and inspired somewhat by a similar post by Reaus, I figured I'd try my hand at shining a spotlight on the lowest divisions in Oceania - a bottom-feeder's perspective on the bottom-feeder teams, perhaps...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oceania Bot-Free Division III Week 16 - the run home
(excludes division-leading bots in brackets)

* alive in Oceania Cup

^ absolute assurance of promotion
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DIVISION III.1
14-1 sogol ^
8-8 Delcos Warriors
8-8 Sleeping Forest
7-9 Frankton Express

Sogol have had this division locked up for several weeks now, ensuring that Indonesia will be represented in Division II next season. Delcos Warriors arrived too late but are seemingly here to stay, and will be in the mix in Season 16. The jury is still out on Frankton Express, though they have been logging in regularly, and winning games. Sleeping Forest are well on their way to bothood.
---------------------------------------------
DIVISION III.2
15-1 Parramatta Pigs
14-2 Dilligaf
7-9 Waikato Chiefs
4-12 Long Spurs
3-13 Bulldogz

The "Peppa Pigs" have a sizeable lead in the points differential race, which will come in handy if the Dilligafs defeat them this weekend. This is likely, having won the first encounter, but they will need to rack up a cricket score this time if they are to take the division this season. Either way, they are good enough, and are pretty much guaranteed to move up to Division II by season 17. The Chiefs, Spurs and Bulldogz have all arrived in recent weeks, with both the Chiefs and Spurs showing promising signs of life.
---------------------------------------------
DIVISION III.3
16-0 Biafra Bohemoths *
6-10 saluan fc

Unchallenged in league play all season, the Bohemoths have a 2 game lead over inexplicably consistent bot side SuperSquad - who are riding an eight game winning streak - however it's hard to make a case for a bot team erasing a 411-point for-and-against deficit when the two teams face off this week. The Bohemoths pulled off a memorable 10-7 upset over the more experienced Portland in the Cup earlier this year, and have basically already qualified for Division II. Saluan FC don't look like they will be here for season 16.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DIVISION III.4 (11-4 Sidney Working Class)
8-8 Taree Hunters
2-14 thoroughbreds

Sidney Working Class were leading the division with a squad that cost a mere $48k per week, but went bot this week. This is now a three-way bot tie at the top, and as all the teams are three games ahead of the Taree Hunters, a bot side is guaranteed to promote from this division. The Hunters may be the pick for season 16 in this one; they appear to be here for at least another three months. The Thoroughbreds had one impressive win but don't appear to be returning any time soon.
---------------------------------------------
DIVISION III.5
12-4 Eden Tigers
11-5 Christchurch Crusaders

The Crusaders have had the toughest run in all of Division III. They started in last place and worked their way to the top, but may have shot themselves in the foot by losing to a bot side last week. This week sees them head into what is shaping up to be the decider, against recent arrivals the Eden Tigers, who started with an equal record but have surged into the lead after the Crusaders loss. Christchurch has a slight edge in points differential, but the Tigers have a distinct advantage with player energy levels. A win for Eden this week will earn them a spot in Division II, while the Crusaders will have to win out and maintain a better for-and-against to go through.
---------------------------------------------
DIVISION III.6
16-0 meown
14-2 Portland
10-6 matty boyds

Meown have been the standout team in all of Division III, and should officially book a spot in Division II with a win this week. They were responsible for Portland's two league losses this season, though Portland, like Dilligaf, would be short-priced favourites to take their divisional title in season 16 should they return. Matty boyds are a new side but have been active; the jury is still out on whether they survive the next season.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DIVISION III.7 (12-4 Lam Bay Lawmakers)
11-5 Colah Creek *
10-6 Penrith Panthers
3-13 Warrimoo Warriors

The Lam Bay Lawmakers started 7-0 before going bot, and Colah Creek have been in hot pursuit ever since. They looked to have blown it by not setting orders and losing a match two weeks ago, but the arrival of the active Penrith Panthers may work in their favour, as they face Lam Bay this week, and Colah Creek have a superior points differential to the Lawmakers. If the Panthers win, and Colah Creek remembers to set their orders for the last two weeks, then Colah Creek will earn promotion. Warrimoo will probably go bot in the next week or so.
---------------------------------------------
DIVISION III.8
15-1 Burleigh Beavers
13-3 durack dingoes

Burleigh has surprised this season, defeating Steel City in what has been the biggest upset in this season's Cup so far, as well as sweeping the Dingoes with a roster that costs half as much per week as their rivals. The Dingoes, who led the division for most of the season, look to have given up as a result and, sad to say, will most likely be bot in a matter of days. The Beavers will officially clinch this division with a win this week.
---------------------------------------------
DIVISION III.9
14-2 Fizzys ^
10-6 Wefo Warriors
5-11 Aotea Pirates

This is a division that has seen three teams go bot due to bankruptcy this season, and countless others due to inactivity. Division-leading bot side Dunedin Huskies ran up a 13-1 record, clinching the division, before being replaced by the Fizzys, who are now roughly a week away from bothood themselves. Second placed Wefo Warriors will be bot even sooner, leaving the Aotea Pirates, who have won their last three despite being out of the running. The question remains: will the Pirates buck the trend, and can they survive the curse of Division III.9 and make it through season 16?

Cheers guys

Hopefully there will be more spare time for this sort of stuff in season 16.

LOL underling divisions. We are the forgotten underlings, lurking in the crevices of Oceania's wrinkly underbelly.

Of course the 16-0 guy wants combined Div III standings .. That will have to be your job, from your Div II pedestal looking down on the next batch of "underlings"
