Good luck all - looking forward to a good season.

It seems like it will be a case of Panthers, Thunder, Damage and I desperately trying to avoid being 8th and 9th!

Starting a new QB this season. Not where I wanted him developement wise. But at 26, he needs to start playing more.

Feeling good. 15 starters increased their main skils today, 9 2nd teamers increased their main skills, and a few propects increased also. Good offseason.

I think I got the worse schedule to start, SKITG and Kamikaze rounds 1 and 2.

Funny enough my first AFLC game is against a bot.

I was wondering when someone would make the new thread

Yeah, that's a pretty tough league start project. Wasn't really keen to see you first round either, cause I want to see how my new signings go in slightly less challenging games first.

Revamped Dline, including the revival of physical training for my 5* american guy. I stopped him at a combined 35 physicals a while ago, but so far he's popped +1 in both strength and speed, so hopefully he can become full beastmode. I was thinking of doing the same for my Aussie DT (also at 35 combined and my last team original), but his age and competition for DE spots means I don't know if it's worth the trouble long term. Other than that, no real personnel changes other than a second rockstar TE and putting faith in former backups for the second Guard spot. Training a new KR (my 20/15 Aussie WR who otherwise wouldn't play for me on a regular basis) and probably a new gunner using another capped out 20 speed youthpull. Perhaps further down the line we will pass the QB duties to Evhen when his BPOS reaches 5* and he pops a few more skill points.

Exciting times ahead. I too get the easiest AFLC matchup in our group first up (the gutted Oryxes). However, I have a feeling the ridiculous strength of Group A could see me bent over on a regular basis. That said, hopefully this is the season either project or I make some waves and get Oceania recognised!

Group A always seems to be the better/tougher group. I'm glad I get a chance at Group B this season. Group A, even with 2 bot last season was a killer.

I've had I look at my group, and think 4th is achievable without much fault, or a 2nd/3rd could happen maybe. What do you think your chances are in group A?

I'm aiming for 5th-6th as a minimum, but concentrating mostly on domestic stuff so I can qualify again. Anything beyond that is probably a good season.

Grizzlies, Hakers, Terminators, and Guanacos are all huge teams with massive history and in the top 10 for highest wages in all of GI. They're paying 500k a week more than I am! Then we have Audreyforever who has very similar wages to me. However, I know he's got a very good eye for quality and he's won some top tier trophies. But luckily his squad is also huge (mine is quite sizeable too), so I think a large chunk of his salary total have nothing to do with his starters. Dire Wolves are also a similar boat. Experienced user, about 100k of salary on me, but big squad. Then you've got the Chinatown Tigers, who are a little further back in some development areas and in wages but still have to be taken seriously.

So yeah, hoping for wins against the Wolves, Midgets, Tigers, and the Oryxes. Any of the others will be a bonus but not completely out of the question (maybe if I shutdown the Grizzly darkwing for example). I'm really hoping to kickstart my CB depth so we can spring a couple of 'those' surprises. My two starters are decent (almost identical actually), and I have two 5* BPOS backups (with a third 5* CB at 4.5* BPOS). Unfortunately, only one of those 5* CBs has the skills required (afterall, he's 26 and will probably be a starter late in the season or next).

I'm confident in my squad to be competitive, but as always there are areas I want to heavily improve.Last edited on 2013-11-02 at 1:28

I played most of those teams last season in Group A. Have a look at those games for some help. Our teams a similar, so you'll get a good projection for how you'll go against them.

Yeah, definitely will have a look. I think overall your defence is better than mine (particularly the LBs) but I have a bit more explosiveness on offence. Special teams probably yours again.

Goodluck in your group though!

Sheesh, a repeat of last season. I didn't watch most of that game, but then came back just in time for the comeback. Final four TDs of the game to roll over the top and win by a score

Had a good laugh when our defence coughed up a first down at 3rd and 15 via a 26 yard run, but the DEs in particular stepped up to help cause some important incompletions at the end. Also, my new TE did precisely... nothing. He was targeted once the whole game which is odd. I think Barratt hogged the ball on that side the whole game.

OMG what agood then crap performance. Wildcats offense just fell asleep with 20 to go. Wildcats drives were:-

69 yards TD
72 yards TD
63 yards TD
80 yards TD
-halftine-
81 yards INT
65 yards TD
0 yards PUNT
16 yards PUNT
0 yards PUNT
0 yards PUNT
23 yards PUNT

Morale of story, when you are ahead by 28, you still need to get first downs.

I think the key that second half was the pressure. 7 hurries (5 in the last quarter alone) in that half for us compared to 2. Interception also obviously helped, but then the next drive when you scored your only second half TD, a big return meant I was already in offensive territory after kickoff! Field position just kept getting worse after while we did to you what you did to us first half.

I'm still mystified as to how a TE gets a 5* performance with 1 target and 0 receptions for the whole game.
