And one other thing. I was looking at the Eastern Europe cup schedule, why are only 4 teams playing? There could be a lot more... Lots and lots of byes...

Because only 2-4-8-16-32-64-128-256-512-1024-... teams can play

Because only 2-4-8-16-32-64-128-256-512-1024-... teams can play


I know, the powers of 2. There could be 32 or maybe 64 teams...

for example.

66 teams.

You need 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256 etc to make a normal round-cup

So if you had 66 you need to eliminate 2 teams right? So you pick the double, 4 teams to make 2 matches for a extra round in which you will eliminate those 2 teams you need. Then you have your 64 teams and your normal round-cup.
