Hi all, just stumbled across this game, thought I would give it a nudge. Did not see any noobie welcome thread so started this. Seems its a bit quiet outside the TD.

No idea what to do to start with but Ill try to build up slow and see what happens. Any advice or pointing in the right direction would be very welcome. Like how to set up regular friendlies for that extra cash etc. Also should I look to get better coaches straight away or make do with what I have at the moment?

The first thing I'd say to you is that this game requires a lot of patience. It takes quite some time to get really competitive, though thankfully in Oceania you'll find it relatively easy to win some games at the lower levels.

The ideal thing is to sort out your finances and save up for stadium building. Organise friendlies by challenging other teams (grey button means they've aleady got a fixtue) or by advertising in the friendly ad section. Also, sort out a sponsor in the economy part of your club menu.

You'd only want to build on a stand with existing seaats if you have two weeks in a row of away league games, or during the offseason (as it takes 15 days for a stand to upgrade, regardless of how many new seats you're putting in). This is because you cannot use those stands while under construction (nothing worse than a home game with no income). Thankfully, you have three other empty stands as a rookie, so you can build on those straight away - they have 0 seats to use!

When you do expand your stadium, I'd recommend filling out the VIP and Executive seats first. These bring in more money per seat and crowds will still buy them if there are no other alternatives.

After you've got some significant cash flow, then you can look at what you're doing in regards to players. I'd recommend reading spilling the beans: http://www.grid-iron.org/community/viewt/15527

Covers most stuff, including what I've told you above.

As a side note, since you specifically asked. Get your finances sorted before coaching. You have to pay a new upfront fee every time you change your coaching levels, hence why it's most economical to get 20 coaching (in all categories except kicking, as that's seen as unnecessary cost) as a all in one go (or at most twice). As you can imagine, that's a significant amount of money upfront and in wages each week, so you want to be up and running properly before doing that.

Gooday.

Do not spend any money on anything other than VIP and Exec seating until you have built all of them.

In the mean time, train physicals and get your roster sorted as best you can.

After all VIP/Exec seating is built, get and upgrade the Fitness Centre and get lvl 20 fitness coaches.

Then back to sorting roster and building stadium to whatever size you choose. By this time you'll probably have worked a lot of stuff out and will have a good idea on stadium size and what facilities/coaches to get and when.

cheers

Wow awesome response, thanks guys. I have been playing trophy manager for 4 years so I understand the patience bit. To be honest I dont have time for a more time consuming game anyway.

Played the first game expecting a whooping with my poor players... wow those Bot teams suck. No doubt Ill get a shock when I play a real person

Can I recruit a youth player (school player) every week even if I dont have youth facility?

The link does not seem to work. Spilling the beans. Any ideas?

Yes Spilling the beans is a great resource to get you going as a newbie. Well worth trying to get it from someone. Other than that you can always ask/private message some coaches from the Top Division for pointers etc. I am happy to share what I know to help you out.

So the situation is -

Damage are in the same situation as 2 seasons ago - it comes down to 1 game between them and the Bulldogs.

I have won my division
A bot will win division 3!

Has a bot ever been promoted to Div 1 b4? I wonder if we could lobby the devs to promote one of the human runners up of Div 2.1 or 2.2?

yeah crappy situation but it is how it is really. I dont think devs will want to get involved with that, but I guess and email/msg would not hurt. I am all for a more competitive Top Div with all Human owners.

Pumpkins and Bulldogs just went bot!

Anyway, should be a good fight in Div 1 next season!

Damage and myself move up with 1 bot. 2 human teams will be relegated after next season and it should be an intense battle to try and not be one of those 2!
