Hey all,

I am noticing quiet a sharp decline in my finances this season. After looking into it further, my income from tickets is down quiet significantly from last year. To be honest I have never really paid too much attention to finances other than making sure I was profitable or at least holding firm.

My team salary has gone up about 300k into this season but everything else is the same. Has anyone else noticed a taper off of finances (ticket sales or other) into the second season in TD ? I guess it could just be that Regional cup games have not started yet and I am not getting income from AFLC like I had been last season??

Missing out on a home game income first round due to stadium construction was also a bonehead move on my part. Might have to start a bunch of rookies earlier than intended to free up the cash in order to stay afloat - with a double away period approaching.....

An overly big stadium like yours means you dont get maximum income from league games until 3/4 through a season. Until then you have diluted vip/exec seats. Good for AFLC and regional cups games though, but not much else.

A couple of early loses will see you attendence drop quickly under the 60K base. Doubling the dilution effect above. As you get further into the season, and you see the attendence climb, and income come a little more freely.

Lack of AFLC games means you will be missing something to the tune of $9M this season.

And of course zero attendence in round 1 is throwing away $1.6M-$2.0M also.

Just do some sums and don't go out like the other teams this season due to idleness. It's easy to free up some cash. And much easier if you act earlier than later.

Don't think it has anything to do with a second season in the top teir. Just lack of AFLC games and some unlucky loses and the construction boo boo that has you thinking about finances due to alot less income than last season.

You are not near finanical ruin hopefully? I reckon you could free up $237K (4 players) in wages and still be as competitive as you currently are.

Thanks for that advice PR . Nah I don't think I am in financial ruin at this stage, by freeing up the cash like you said I should be able to get through this tough stage. Hopefully the skies are clear for some better attendances at my home games. See how it goes I guess. It is so dumb how they only let you go so little into the red for a small amount of time.. bit unrealistic really. Oh wells, I have been in the red before, I can get through it again.

Do not underestimate the cash injection that is AFLC. A monopoly on one AFLC spot each season is the #1 reason Faulcon was so rich when he bowed out (lack of transfer activity was undoubtedly less significant in that aspect).

Indeed. Last time I was in AFLC, I made a $21M profit that season alone. Every season has been a profit for the Bucs/Dragons since inception. But that one was huge one. Did only have $700K in wages and no tactical coaches back then.

But I wasn't competitive in that AFLC season, only winning once to a bot lineup. To be competitive in AFLC, I'd probably eat up $19M of that $21M profit.

I reckon you need a weekly wages of $1.6-1.7M to be at the pointy end of AFLC. That wage would hurt financially though if you don't play AFLC one season. There would have to be some serious roster cuts.

Yes, I have def underestimated it. Last season it felt like I was killing it finance wise, which is why I splurged out on my new QB. Should have left a bit more of a buffer perhaps to get me through the first half of this season.

If you click on the 'GI Top 100' above, then 'Highest Salaries', then 'Oceania', you will just to see the wages for our region.

Bergertrons $ 1,339,589
Kamikaze $ 1,302,563
Bucs $ 1,173,522
Tiger-Pirates $ 1,074,804
SKITG $ 1,073,718
Thunder $ 818,097
Panthers $ 551,408
Damage Inc. $ 484,637
Coes Creek $ 461,399
Convicts $ 357,250

The Iron Backs had $1.6M when they went balls up.

And the Sleuths had $1.9M at the start of the season and pulled it back down to $1.6M with a few transfers before finally going bot.

Your $1.475M would include staff (docs and coaches) wages also. The above list is only player wages combined.

ahhh k got it. Yeah often wondered how people knew the team salaries for other teams - I had assumed they just went into their players and added them up one by one Way too much work I had thought

Well looks like I need to do some trimming of some old expensive foliage.

Noticed the trimming. You let go 2 of the 4 players I thought of. Hopefully the $167K weekly wage saving does your finances good. Good way to save $1.67M for the rest of the season.
