Since the other thread seems to have stagnated, I decided to make another thread.

For those newbies out there, this thread is for the discussion of anything outside of the TD (as it already has it's own dedicated thread).

---------------------------------------------

In my division (II.3) there are only two human teams (NSW Bulls and myself). I play them this week. The Bulls manager hasn't been online for a while, so who knows if he even put his orders in for this week.

Update: He didn't put in his orders, free win for me!

Looks like you'll be walking in TD next season.

Well, I will be lucky to win a game unless someone goes bot. No way I will even be remotely ready for TD next season, unless I acquire LOTS of lightning through the transfer market (which I probably won't be able to afford anyway). Either way it will be good experience for me and my birds.

I'd agree with you not being ready. But with no other human team in your division, you are gonna have to just do it. I wouldn't change you plan. Dont go buying players to try to get wins. Build your stadium, don't increase wages and just save dollars. Just use this winning season, and new TD losing season as developement seasons. By the third season, you'll be whooping arses back in DivII.1/2/3.

Heh, you are in a similar situation that I was last season mate. My main competition ended up going bot towards the end of the season which leap frogged me into promotion. I believe this happened 1 or even 2 seasons prematurley but now I just have to fight to stay up. The dissapointing loss of some TD teams has made my task somewhat easier.

See you in the big boys soon mate

I will be doing just that!

Pretty similar scenario, however it was evident from regional cup that you were much more ready than myself.

Also, if you see any half decent bargains in terms of 3.5*+ talent with good physicals (or other stats) think about a bid.

Spend on nothing expensive, but there are a lot of very cheap unadvertised (or even advertised 3.5-4* these days) gems out there. Just do a little bit of planning ahead and try put into place some potential building blocks in key positions for the future. Nothing is set in stone obviously and these can be replaced later by good youth pulls or better prospects as you can afford/find them.

Economical matters are a good priority, but you don't want to be at a stage where you finish polishing your 72000 seat stadium, state of the art training facilities, and top coaches and realising you have to recruit/train a whole team. Even with top, top facilities, it still takes 2-4 weeks depending on teamwork per point of skill on focused training! That's assuming you find all your building blocks instantaneously also which won't be the case (damn you physical caps!). When faulcon was really rampant during the sort of middle part of his reign, the huge gap was primarily down to his team being so far ahead of the curve than most other teams in terms of development. You'll note that recent seasons have been a lot closer, partially for other reasons but also because teams like the Bucs are much more developed across the board than before. It takes a long time to get players to decent allround levels and I'm definitely finding that out despite being a youth talent transfer addict from day one.

Saw going through some of this seasons league human vs human games and saw this:-

4th-1-COE82 Rush Carlos Latorre runs 18 yards for a TOUCHDOWN!

On fourth down, don't just settle of a field goal. Run it in for a touchdown.

Awesome!

The lower divisions are the equivalent of College football. Much simpler systems and mush more risky. Anyways, the team that ran that play you mentioned have jerseys that look like Texas A&M.
