I'm new to this sim and I know I have a terrible QB. What do I do considering I don't know the first thing about buying and selling players?

Click tools - it'll default to the transfer search. In the fields below choose Passing(5+), Intelligence(12+), Vision(4+), and click search.

For a QB you'll want high intelligence, high passing, and high vision. Strength is probably good, footwork is probably good, carrying is probably good. Players train slower after Age 27 and retire some time after Age 30... this is not to say "don't get anyone old" - because even 3 seasons is a year, which gives you plenty of time to find someone younger to take the spot.

Erh, I think players age increase at every offseason. But it still leaves plenty of time to search for next starter.

And yes, 3 Game Seasons = 1 Real Life year.. which means plenty of real life time to find a "future star" if the best he can come up with is an old fogey right now.
