and training is a week long thing that resets on thursdays, right, like i can only train one type of thing one week and choose to do another the next.

You might train all week, but you have until Wednesday (don't know what time they pull from the server) to decide what you trained all week on. Then on Thursday you find out how much your training paid off. So, you might like to think of it as all week training, but for all purposes you only train on 1 day... just before the training report on Thursday.
