The rankings are pretty useless. Teams that qualified for the World cup in the beginning have a big edge over teams that qualified later. Teams that end up in groups with 5 teams get a jump on teams in 4 team groups. Probably several other things wrong with the rankings.

I think a big part of what's happening is that some of the other countries are just catching up as far as the talent and skill levels of their players.

We're one of the leading suppliers of World Cup players for other nations!

In addition, I've been proved wrong about players on bot teams! In the past I noticed a drop in overall team play when we had bot players on the team... Not this season... Hungary thumped us to knock us out of the World Cup and they had 9 players STARTING who were on bot teams!


Like Hakers told me... just when you think you figure something out... bam! No clue!

We did have some bad luck this season though, quite a few of our starters were cut and went on the transfer market as free agents... and multiple times!

I couldn't afford to play them in case no one picked them up and they retired. I ended up having to play a 3-4 defense, which I absolutely hate.. and that might explain why our opponents seemed to score at will on us. And Lofton had a horrible WC.. I'm wondering if his age is catching up to him.

Overall, I'm really disappointed in my performance this cycle. I didn't have enough backups to step in when our starters started going down.

If I'm elected again next time, I want to make sure to not only get our starters and primary backups set, but bring in extra backups at all positions until all 70 positions are filled, which I did not do this time.

Well, I'd vote for you again! Let me know if there's anything I can do for you (scouting, etc.) -- I'd love to get the US NT back on top.
