If I was to get a partcular guys BPOS up enough on 2 positions - QB & MLB, and was to play him in both positions in the same game...... as in both ways

Would there be any penalty for this ?

Fitness down more, less effective etc ?

Thanks

You would only be getting BPOS for QB if you played him in both positions, so you need to decide if he will flex every other game or go full BPOS in on position and then play him in the other in friendlies and so on.

No penalty as far as I am aware of, but you should remember that the admins have stated that the ideal strength for a QB is 13 and that could be too small for a MLB... Over 13, the admins (somewhere) have said that there is a penalty for the QB's ability to throw.

This penalty related to the new GE which is the old new GE which hasn't been implemented. Not to be confused with the new GE which hasn't been implemented!

Yup

And I think I there is a penalty on stamina for playing dual positions, cant remember where I read it though.. IMO its a bad idea for QB/MLB since a MLB will take so long to train in all important skills, add passing to that and it would be even worse.. I wouldnt risk the chance that he would be less efficient as a QB in a game without a running game..

Agreed that QB/MLB is a bad idea, as many of the traits are conflicted. A QB has no use for tackling, and an MLB has no use for passing. If you are desperately short on intelligent players then it might be an option, but really, you don't want to be there.

Some areas where dual roles can be more workable are Running Back/Kick Returner, where they share the same required skills, although a Running Back may need more blocking. Also, a Quarterback with high carrying/agility/footwork might be a possible option as a Kick Returner. Cornerbacks can double up as Gunners, and if you are short on speedy players, they can even be used as Wide Receivers. Likewise, if you are short on physically strong players, a lineman with good blocking and tackling could 'double-up' and play on both sides of the scrimmage.

In theory you could save a fortune by doing this, running a team on just 18 multi-talented players, but I'm not sure if anyone will risk putting it into practice on a large scale.

Here is a link (see below) for an interesting thread to read regarding Dual-role players

I'm still not entirely sure how BPOS advancement works when you give a player two roles in a match.

Will the player always advance in whatever position their BPOS is highest in, or vice versa?

If a player has already got the maximum BPOS they can in a particular position, due to their limitation based on their talent rating, is it safe to assume that they will get better in the position they're not maxed out in, or doesn't it work like that?
