Maybe what the game needs is a behind the scenes automated script that uses a simple regression to calculate weights which everyone is giving to various attributes - then uses that to predict the auction price for players (all hidden information).. if a Player actually sells considerably higher than the predicted price - it would automatically generate a simple warning to someone in charge to check it out.

This would prevent last second bids that might otherwise go unnoticed.

again guys I know it's good to know that the admins are on top of things like this, but let's just let them do their job and leave this out of the forums. Or I'll have to unleash Yoshi, the Forum Dinosaur police unit

I know but honestly the forums police themselves so well I want to try to keep it informal unless it gets absolutely out of hand. I've only had to use any kind of mod intervention other than polite requests once. everything else I've just cleaned up myself or the community has jumped in it's been awesome.
