I am playing this game for a few weeks now. But I can not help myself to wonder what the purpose of this game is?

It strikes me as odd that so little clear information is available about the workings of the game. It seems it is about guessing about the right mathematical formulas that influence the characteristics of the players.

Being in football for twenty years I do know that football is about a lot of things but mathematics is not one of them (if you do not count the stats haha)

If that is the whole idea, which is fine by me, then why not make this information a little bit easier to access and present it more comprehensible. I find myself reading through endless discussions on this forum, which go off-topic alot, gathering bits and piecs. And often it is not even clear if what is says is true or just a theorie of somebody. It takes a lot of time which i rather spend on playing the game the right way.

I find the whole player building aspect of the game a bit out off balance with the strategy side of the game. You can have the best players but still can lose big time if you do not know how to use them on the field.

for the rest it is quite amusing.

just my two cents

Welcome to the Game Commandante,

Just addressing a few of your points, a lot of internet games don't have all of their game engine details listed publicly because then it just becomes a numbers crunching exercise. The fact that the best players don't always win is a tribute to the game engine imho, if you took real life football it would be the same way. I could have Peyton Manning, Adrian Peterson, Terrell Owens, Randy Moss, Tony Gonzales and the entire NFC pro bowl starting offensive line but it wouldn't matter if Manning peterson owens and moss were on the D line with the O linemen dropping back in coverage. Are there any specific questions you'd like to address?

Best Regards,
Merc

That's what makes the game interesting. You have to figure out your own startegy. You can use the forum to discuss your findings with others and gain knowledge about it's workings.

If all information were available, there wouldn't be much room for strategy. Also bear in mind that this is not a PC game, which you play for a short time and put it on the shelf. If you stick with it you might end up playing it for a few years.
