Is there any benefit to having them on your squad other than chemistry? Do they ask for less money or progress faster?

Are you referring to the youth pulls?

If so, they are young players to develop. Every player in GI came from some team's youth pull or initial team roster. Make sure you pick one each week. They will not reset if you don't pick one.

From FAQ

6. What is the option “Youth players”?
Once a week you have the chance to select one new youth player to join your team. You get 2 randomly created players and you may select one. The starting quality of the players is low but you can build the youth academy which gives you a chance to get slightly better players. With the youth academy you also get more players in the youth pull (up to 5).
7. So I just click on a youth player I want and he is mine?
Exactly
8. Why can't I see the stats of youth players?
Youth players are players that scouts notice at your local schools, sport venues, parks... They show promise so they are brought to you to decide if and which one you want. None of these young players is investigated in any detail except for their name and age.

Yes. They are all from my country so I was wondering if there is any benefit to having more of them on my team. So there is no other benefit than immediate chem of 10? No extra teamwork or anything if they are on a team of their native country?

Doesn't matter if they're Australian or from Planet Zogg , they're still treated equally. Nationality only matters when the National teams are being picked.

For some unknown reason though, there are 1 or 2 managers who take pride in having all players on their own team having the same nationality as their team ..each to their own.

You don't even get immediate team chemistry of 10. All new players to your team start with team chemistry 1 (.5 star) regardless of how they came to your team. The nationality only shows where they are from and which world cup team they can play for.

Youth pulls are the way to add new players to your team, ideally for the future, but for new teams, they can sometimes supplant players on your current roster. They will sometimes have a lower salary until the season turnover, but no other difference.

Right. Got that idea from having a team full of aussies to start with and all with chem = max.

So the only benefit is that you have exclusive rights to that player unless you don't want them.

Thanks again.

the benefit is that they are young and you can train them to play any position you want.

I have players from all over the globe, it would be more difficult to limit your roster to one nation......so props to those that do so and are competitive. It certainly would be more work
