Do Enlighten us. Exactly what response do you expect to get from people who play a game (and therefore probably enjoy it, rather than playing at gunpoint) when you post "this game sucks" or "these developers are not American and therefore know nothing"?

At best what he says is true and he will be able to forward his credentials to the Devs.

At worst he's just inciting everyone and we're playing into his hands.

This post is in the wrong forum anyway. Please move it to Off Topic so that we don't clutter up the Newbie area.Last edited on 2008-12-14 at 20:21

I've been here since it started so what does that tell you?

Don't be lazy, research takes a little effort and you could of clicked on my screen name and found all you need to know.

This is a prime example of why people should not fall for the,"Make money from home" scams because this poor guy did and his rent has not been paid and his kids have been passing an empty can of soup around because they are hungry.

uch mata master, just play the game and spew your crap to people who will fall for it, on another site.

Ok, that's a downright awful thing to say! No reason for personal attacks here, you're being pretty hostile!

Well OK...
To the powers that be.
I'm writing an article on the MMORPG games that have sprung up in the last few years that are geared to the sports enthusiast in simulation games and their fans. The investigations are geared to choosing some fans of the "real-life" game/sporting event in question, players of various levels, and coaches of various levels. Then questions that arise from the test players/observers are relaid to the developer/programmer to have information as the where the game has been, where its going, and how its being improved to be a better game for those that wish to play them. There is an honest evaluation of the game from these perspectives and a grade given as to the following areas.
1.) Cost (of playing the game)
2.) realism ( is it truly a sim or a randomizing engine)
3.) escape(the addict factor)
4.) time constraints (how much time must be spentto play the game
5.) graphics (of the actual game/match/competition)
6.) player interaction (forums, PMs, Email etc.)
7.) Fun factor (do the players really enjoy the experience and to what level

These are taken and then a final grade based on the A,B,C,D,F scale.

The complaints/suggestions by the "testers/observers" of the game are then given to the developer/Programmer and answers are given as to bugs/fixes/changes that may occur on their part.

The article is short for each of the many games in the market and will be either posted on websites, magazines, or forums that deal with the area of interest, in its entirety, or in part, so that consumers/game enthusiasts can make an intelligent informed decision as to which game they wish to purchase/play/frequent.

So if the guys who run this thing can either post on here, or email me, they do have that info when I first logged onto here, that would be great. and seeing as how it's now on the forums, anyone want to post on here for me to see their thoughts as well on this game, and this game only, I'll be happy to have more info for the article.
As the article is not written by a particular magazine, webzine, or blog space I cannot give at the present time which site, mag, or spot it is that this is being written for.

First let me start off by saying I agree with Tahl in that we should take our freind at face value.

Having said that, as a bit of courtesy, I would suggest that you completely skew your intended testing subjects view toward you, by initiating your "research" with flame bait. My suggestion to you is to research the best method of contacting the developers of the game, and follow that method. The forums were never meant as this level of social sampling or research. Listing the information you seem to be seeking it seems as if you are trying to elicit a response on whether or not you want to play this game as well as garner some inside information on the game engine directly from the horses mouth as it were. You state that you use players and coaches of varying levels of the sport to test the game. Is that what you are looking for from us? what level all of us were when considering the playing/coaching of this game? While I realize that you may not have a target audience for this specific article, can you point to any of your work for us, just so that we might get to know your style better before we respond, in order to improve the quality of your article of course.

Best Regards,
Mercutioh

"I would suggest that you completely skew your intended testing subjects view toward you, by initiating your "research" with flame bait"
Agreed, in this case it seems to have backfired on me. In previous research on other websites, the owners quickly stepped in and contacted me directly.

"My suggestion to you is to research the best method of contacting the developers of the game, and follow that method."
Usually, there is a parent company that is in charge of the RPG on the web. After researching this game I was only able to find out information such as Host IP, website worth, and hosted country. So this appears to be a "mom-and-pop" website where a fan has designed a game. Without a parent company to contact I chose a more invasive technique, which apparently has backfired severely.

They have indeed backfired.

There are three Moderators here; Mercutioh, Buckeye and Myself - To deal with such Users, and comments, such as the "a game that's not even run by the country that invented the game....riiiiiight". You were quite fortunate yesterday, as I almost took a shot at you. If I were not a Moderator, I would have posted...

But on another note, stay around, play the game, and you will realise that this game is not just a simulation, it is a community.

Guru.
