I'm trying to do some of the ground work now, ahead of call ups, that way the new coach will have a leg up on the competition when it comes to call ups.

We were in desperate need of upgrades at safety last season, so I picked up Ralph Spires from the Black Stars and King Hollar from the Blazers and they both performed great! Our backups were pretty week though, and Hollar is now 31 years old and losing stats, so we need at least 1 really good safety to be our new starter and I'd like to upgrade our backup safety as well.

That's really the only starting position that we need to replace.

I know many disagree with me, but I think playing players from bot teams hurts your team chemistry, so I played no bot players this season. Unfortunately we had a few managers with NT players who went bot last season, so we probably need to replace them.

Western Winners went bot and left a starting kicker, a backup TE (who has since converted to WR), a backup Safety and a backup OL on the team.

Greenville Gunners went bot and left a backup LB on the team

So we need this:
STARTERS..
- Safety

BACKUPS..
- Offensive Linemen
- Tight End
- Safety
- Kicker
- Linebacker

If anyone has a candidate for the team, please let me know.
I've prepared a spreadsheet for the next coach with all our players, their stats and who they play for..

I'd also like to have a list of prospective replacements ready so he can hit the ground running.

I'd like for the US to be the first back-to-back champions!

Is there a minimum level of player you are looking for? Example: a player should be 5-star BPOS in their position and have at least a 15 in their primary skills (blocking/footwork for OL, kicking for kickers, etc.).

I would think we want at least 4.5* BPOS... 5* is better, but probably unrealistically high for every position.

Consistency should be good, but doesn't necessarily have to be 20.. and with the quality we have on the team now, their primary stats would likely have to be at least 16 or 17 to even have a whisper of a chance at being a backup. However, if their primary stats are equal to a starter but consistency is better, they would probably move into the starter role.

The only real pressing need is at safety. One starter is losing stats due to age and the other should really be a backup. Problem is, most of the really good safeties on NA teams are not American. I have a young guy who will probably be good enough to be a back up in season 12 and a starter by season 13, but he's just not ready this season.

As long as no one goes bot, the other starting positions are set, but we need to replace some of the backups that went bot.

So who is thinking of going for WC HC now that it has been announced?

I would love to do it some time in the future, but I know people will be deceived by the date joined. I've actually played this game for 9 months, took a 2 month break, and decided I wanted to come back. I know I need to prove myself, but in a few season I hope to be considered for the job.

Looking forward to WC5.

While it's tempting to try and win 2 in a row for me and 3 in a row for the USA, I accomplished what I wanted, so I won't be running again. We have more than enough awesome managers in the US who are imminently qualified and deserving of a chance to represent us.

Hm. Like most of everyone else, I was expecting a deeper bunch of candidates for the new position of NT Head Coach. I honestly wasn't anticipating being most qualified person to throw his hat in the ring either ... Well, with that said, I think I would do a fine job as Head Coach. I've been playing this game for close to 4 years, so I would like to think I know how things work.

If I'm appointed as Head Coach, I would plan on using http://naworldcupteam.yuku.com/directory as the team forum. For those of you who haven't established an account, do so --- that way, even if I don't win, we'll still have a good meeting place set up for the incumbent Coach to work with.

So, vote for me, because I'm good...? Well, maybe not "good", but at least very least better than average...? Hmmm. Democracy!
