So, if the sacker is most likely to be a DE, will it be more interesting to play the 4-3 than the 3-4 ? Or does the defensive scheme not alterate the function of the DL and LB ?

What I'm trying to know here is, will this new routine make one type of defense better or worst ? Because after all, in the 3-4 the DLs main goal is to open holes for the LB to get to the QB/RB, and in the 4-3 the objective of the DL is to penetrate most of the times and the LBs just stop the running game from inside the "Box".

Hope I can get an answer for this, cause my D# philosophy is the 3-4, but if the 4-3 turns out to be more interesting to put pressure on the OL, i'm not thinking twice to make the change.

You can still play 3-4. If there are no DEs then the engine will select one of LBs.

The new engine will now make DE more likely candidate to perform a sack but not an exclusive one.
