I've found a few, but unfortunately you have to pay to play. And I'm not talking a few dollars. I'm talking like 50 bucks a season.

Exactly why I didn't sign up. I have no problem with games like this that let you play then if you like it you can pay, but to pay up front is stupid.

Baseball was one of the original games to enter the online manager world. I forget the name of it, but there has for years been a game where you essentially pick historical players, and they simulate games and such. Not exactly the same, but definitely one of the forerunners of games like GI.

Anyways,

haven't tried it yet, but just found it in a google search. Try searching "online baseball manager game".

I signed up. So far it's just hockey, but they're going to be adding more sports and have a waiting list. I'll keep my eye on it.

You have extra z at the end of the link.
Anyway, baseball is not active sport yet. It is planned for the future. I was registered at this manager. Guys that run it did a good job in advertising a game, but I didn't like the rest of their job. It took more then a year after announcement and before first season started. Only Ice Hockey is available, but I didn't like how the game is designed and I quit playing.
