Don't think footwork matters for defensive lineman. My player Lucas had 17 tackles today playing defensive tackle.

Care to explain?

his speed is high, strength is high, agility is high..he's dumb, and I don't even know if he has feet..his footwork is at 1 though.

How much did your opponent run the ball and what is the guy's positioning?

Only reason I ask, is that if he has high positioning and he ran the ball a lot, then it might that footwork is slightly important, but that positioning is the most important.

his position is only at 2, his vision is bad..shoot enough with the 411 on my star defensive lineman, want to know more about him, send a scout to scout him. Oh yeah, he is among my leaders in tackles for the season.

it looks like by the mechanics of this game, DT have higher tackling numbers. My best DL (all-around better attributes) are my 2 DE yet they didnt get nearly as much tackles as my 2 DT.

I think for corners and safeties, vision and positioning are more improtant than speed, agility, tackling, and footwork. I have an 8 tackler that I started at CB, but he constantly misses tackles because of his low vision and positioning, despite his high agility and speed.

I think footwork is the primary 'open field juke' skill for offense. My RB and TE will break long plays plays, but neither has much agility, but they have good footwork.
