I saw on the main GI forum that there is a place to sell your player. What if I want to look at a general pool of players that are for sale? Is there such a place or do I have to hunt through that thread for the players that I'm looking for?

Just got a team with no hope of reaching the playoffs this season. I figure I'll see how the guys I inherited do over the next game or two and then see what changes I can make for next season. Sounds logical, right? My only real question is that since I only have 1 player at each position, should I start scouting for players now so I have some depth in case of injuries, etc.? Any advice from you old-timers?

I agree with Guru.

For example, I've seen teams that all year have added no one, or at the least just their youth players, and currently lead their divisions. On the other extreme is me. I added depth everywhere for the future after some retire or if/when game injuries or subs are added in. I now don't have as big of a stadium as most who started at my time and I may not have quite as much flexibility economically, but I feel very good about my ability to just plug players in after older ones decline or retire and not miss a beat.

I also have enough that if I feel like I can get some good money for one, or need some extra cash, I can put them up and have replacements. Although, I would not suggest going as crazy as I did. I have way too many players now, and here in the next few weeks I need to get rid of some to help me out with wages.

I think ultimately what you should do is look at the market from time to time, and if you find someone who can help, either now or in the future, put some bids on him. Depth is always good because you don't know when an injury is going to happen, and having youth for the future is always good. But as of now, the stadium is probably the most important thing to worry about in the game.

beta season = nobody knows what it is (the game is not beta however this is just the first ever season this game has) Some peeps have worked out some little niches but the rest and many of them are still undiscovered about the game as to how to go about managing the team well.
