Melbourne 49ers $7 million QB, Pawel Gontarczyk, has been crowned king of all QB after Poland takes out World Cup 3 from 19th ranking.

Damn he is a good investment ....

I will probably slide a bit this season. After finally getting together the motivation to rework my squad I figured I'd be a little draconian about it. Quite a few starters gone (or going) and a number of the guys I was going to use as backups as well. Still getting rid of them should make things a bit more manageable.

Yes I believe Pawel Gontarczyk was a great investment. I will have to spend $7M on a hitman to remove him. But the 49ers would be winners without him. Their coach has built a awesome squard, and has his fingertips already on the 2 cups for this season.

Also noticed the Skinks firesale. I have some interest in some of the players. Still be a strong team. History proven.

Kamikaze! What is there to say. Quiet achievers that will continue to improve and will win more games this season. I still feel this team has the X-factor. Ready to do something special.

I believe the Bucs will be much better this year. Young team with continued training will see just as much improvement than the season before. Aiming high at 2nd place this season. Kamikaze and Skinks will not let me have it easy though, but the Bucs will try. Even though the scoreline in the Cup final was close, the Bucs are still far away from the 49ers. But the do not play each other until the 9th week, so maybe the Bucs could be ready to give the 49ers a close battle.

I believe the Wolverines will play better this season. After a good start and the a late season colaspe with a massive slide down the standings. But suspect tactics that the Wolverines coach admitted to mid season would have been the main reason for this. The Zillas played poorly early last season and were surprized in a few early games. But to their credit, had a massive turn around and won most of their games towards the end of the season. Will they both mix it with the top teams this season? I believe so!

Huskies just dodged religation last season. Last season must have been a very dissapointing season considering the team finished 3rd the season before. Now with a young improving team, I think the will climb the standings once more. They will need to keep their wits about them, as the Sharks and Iron Backs will be chasing them all season.

Dunno if the 3 new teams will a major impact the TD much this season. None seem to have the staying power that the Wolverines displayed last season. But we will not know until the 1st whistle blows and the games begin.

Good luck to all this season. It is gonna be a traffic jam on the standing table this year.Last edited on 2011-07-31 at 0:20

Kamikaze 0-56 Glandore Rebels
Melbourne 49ers 14-7 Tuff Gong Iron Backs
Dunedin Huskies 21-28 Sunshine Coast Buccaneers
Slumbering Skink 42-14 Edwardstown Wolverines
Godzillas Raiders 21-14 devonport sharks

Confused much? I am! New teams did really well. Loses by only 7 points. 49ers needed full 60 minutes to find the winning TD in the last minute. And the Sharks run out of time with 24yds left. The rebels scored a freebie with the Kamikaze's coach not turning up.

Other results were as expected. Huskies pushing the Bucs all the way in a close one.

I think katsuben must have walked away from the game. Kamikaze's running another weird roster.

Got too busy for the game at a bad time, transitioning to a new season and not being able to set order in advance... now not sure if I want to continue.
