The current game engine does not recognize a RB position as one that can catch passes. So any player used as a RB will not have any passes thrown to them.

Each player has a BPOS rating for each position which is determined randomly when a player is created. This tells you how well they currently play if you use them at that position. The more you play a player at a position, they higher his BPOS rating in that position will become. Whichever position currently has the highest rating will be the position listed for the player, so this can change over time.

What this means, is that it doesn't matter if a player is listed as a WR, but you play him at RB. He will be treated as a RB and his skills will be used accordingly. Since BPOS ratings are determined randomly at first, it's best to sort your players into the positions they are best suited for long term and play them at those positions.

On other words. Train his WR-skills and let him play as WR. If he's currently not good enough as WR, let him play (and gain BPOS) in friendly matches.

Good luck!

Play a full run attack. In Div V.10. No need for catching skills yet.

if your RB's have minimal blocking skills and you are in a run offense does it make sense to go HB center with HB left or HB right? in that case would each HB carry the ball about half the time?

It depends on your settings (attacking one side vs. QB decides) plus a random part.
But basically you're right, I guess.

For a run offense I still would play FB + HB, even when blocking skills are low, as I assume that it has a bigger effect on running than placing two HBs. For FB + HB just take your faster RB with better carrying and agility as HB and the other one as FB (might be the stronger one as well).
