I had one guy play both K and P for me today. His kick skill and punt skill are the same, yet he had a 3 rating as kicker and 2.5 rating as punter. Anyone know why?

As funny (or not) it may sound, but the positions (kicker and punter) are calculated individually and each rating is depended of the consistency.
So the player might have a good day as a kicker, but a bad day as a punter.

Now it would be interesting if jonmarc want to share players consistency value!

Yesterday i thought: damn - this could be a small prove for "skills are included" in in-game-rating calculation - something i dont really think

Today and thanks to jack: well, this could be an explanation and my "no-skills-included" theory would be still alive

So waiting vor jonmarc...

How is this a theory? The Admin have clearly stated that in the current match engine the kickers only need the primary skill.

When Kickers need Kick/Strenght and Punters need Punt/Strength and Kick = Strength and "skills are included"

-> the rating schould be the same

But the Rating wasnt...

-> a) because of Consistency calculated separately

-> b) my assumption of needed skills is wrong

-> c) i just dont have a clue

I dont say anything is proved - i say "my theory" that skills are not included would be still alive - at least for me.

I agree with the Consistency, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were some kind of spice calculation as well. It seem to seep through every single design in this game.

Kickers don't even need Strength in the current engine. They just need Kicking and Punting. Hopefully this will change with the next engine.

So you can make all your assumptions, but it wont change the fact that the Admins have stated that only the Kicking and Punting skills are needed at the present time.

I started doing a lot better once I started ignoring what they told us and going by what I observed.

If no skills are used in the calc of game ratings, explain how Badgers and me have the same BPOS, but he had 94 gamerating, I had 82 (last games).

Skills are used in match rating. The Admins have stated this as well. The question here is:

Are there more than Kicking/Punting skill included in the calculation? Apart from BPOS. Are there any secondary skills?

My answer is no, since the Admins stated that the kicking only involved Kicking and Punting.
