How are fixtures compiled, rounds played tables updated etc? or is this just a straight knock out cup?

You're on the list. About you question: the first is group phase then knock-out phase. Groups draw will come about 15-16.03. Schedules and results are always on forum. You can see previous editions of the cup in other threads.
