Minimum Strength for CBs

As I try to shape my team for the future, I working on what my ideal CB should look like and was wondering if there is a minimum strength they should have?

Here's what I'm think:
1. CBs are often one of only two players that have a chance to make a tackle on a pass play.
2. Not sure, but I think strength plays at least a small part in the tackling/broken tackle calculation (I believe the admins have alluded to this).

So do you really want a 9 Str CB as one of two guys between Morin and the end zone?

My CBs got 11, 13, 15 and 15, but I am more concerned with getting at least 16+ in speed ... if not 18+ Speed and then just 11+ in Strength. The higher the better of course

My plan was to take my four fastest players with low IQs and turn the stronger two into CBs and the weaker two into WRs. It makes sense that strength would factor into the tackling calculation, but I suspect that tackling is much more important.

Yes, but assuming the players are of decent talent level, you can pretty much train tackling as high as you want to pay for. Not so for strength (and speed)....

So my 20 speed, 16 strength guy should work out just fine

Nah, you should sell him. Just make sure you put up an ad saying he has caps at 10 for both speed and strength.

Yeah sure...that 1 1/2-stars of talent might hurt you though. :-)

Think I will stick with my 19yo, 20 speed, 18 strength, 17 cons, 4.5 talent prospect at WR....

on topic... will admit my current CB's are not as strong as I would like, there replacements are better on that front..

Just a heads up ... you can't have Speed 20 and Strength 18 from next season, but I guess he will still be a great WR. At least my Speed 20 Strength 17(playing as 14) have been so far
